Setting (Nhung Pham)

These are the possible locations for our teaser trailer. We will be filming in and around Christ the king college as the trailer is also set in a college. We had an idea to film around the abandoned area of CTK and inside the corridors and classes to show the setting of a college.

Poster ideas: Drafts (Nhung Pham)

For our poster, I began sketching a few ideas gained from our horror poster textual analysis knowledge. As slasher horror movie, I made the masthead bloody to suggest it is about killing as slasher horror often involves a sharp object such as a knife or an axe. I wanted to show different aspects of the slasher genre including both the victims and antagonists on the poster.

Poster draft 1:
This is the first design I came up with. As slasher horror contains a sequence of victims being stalked and killed in a graphic manner. The idea of the 'Final girl' lead me to draw a female on the front poster screaming, showing strain and expressions on her face only whilst the background is dark, giving off a sinister feeling. Her face could be shown on one side and contrasted darker on the other side to hide what is going on which makes the audience intrigued of what may be going on.

Poster draft 2:
Expanding on my ideas, I chose to do a design hiding the identity of the antagonist and only show a dark figure outlining the masculine features. I wanted to show the concept of the killer being seemingly a indestructible evil force without showing the full identity. I also have him holding a knife to show that the movie would involve scenes of killing/abduction.

Poster draft 3:
For this design, as we are set in a college/school i thought to draw the antagonist behind a double glazed glass window, capturing the victims. As the students in our trailer are doing a project and is carrying a camera I put 'REC' to show that whilst they are trapped with the camera recording him. Also it shows that the camera is the main prop in the movie therefore the audience will immediatly be informed that it is based on recording and cameras.

Pictures taken and what we intend to use them for. - Tyler Mason

we took this image of the camera lens.it was initially meant to be used for the poster. The idea behind it is that the lenses reflections would contain the face of the antagonist and would play on the narrative of the film, as the camera is a key prop in the film.

Audience Research Result: Video (Nhung Pham)

This is Norman, a student studying at Christ the King Sixth form who I asked to take part in answering some questions for our horror research, sharing his thoughts and feelings as this will be useful for some ideas towards our trailer.

Drafts For magazine front cover - Tyler Mason

The draft follows the normal convetions of a magazine cover with the main image dominating the page and the bar code being place at the bottom left so it does not get in the way of everything else.I also have decided to include a puff I placed it just above the title which should attract people into purchasing the magazine.
I have not come up with an idea for the colour scheme yet so I guess more research is needed to be done to decide.
